The Power to Transform: Choosing the right accessories for your home

The first signs of spring are finally here so what better time to inject a bit of colour and character into your home with some fresh new accessories? It’s amazing how the right choices really can transform the look and feel of a room. And the great thing about accessories is that you can afford to be a bit more daring than you might be with other aspects of your home because they’re so easy to change.

Mark the changing seasons

Cushions are a really easy way to introduce some seasonal colour into your home. Why not say goodbye to winter and a very welcome hello to spring with a gorgeous floral cushion from Sanderson (£49)? Our faux hydrangea flower bouquet (£35) is also a great way to ‘bring the outside in’ and you don’t even need green fingers to keep these flowers alive! The trend for faking it when it comes to plants and flowers keeps on growing and we absolutely love this low maintenance approach. Our hugely popular ceramic bobble bowl (£45) is also a super way to introduce hints of summer if you load it up with colourful fruits. It comes in both cream and grey so you’re bound to find one which will work with your existing scheme.

Add character and texture

Metallics are still making a big noise in the interiors world this season. But instead of copper and rose gold, it’s now all about antique brass finishes. Our pineapple candlesticks (£18 each) offer a great value way to make a nod to this trend. Why not display them as a pair on a hallway console table? We also have some amazing Zoffany wallpapers in stock at the moment with gorgeous geometric patterns and metallic accents. Do contact us or pop into the showroom to have a look.

Let there be light

If your space is feeling a bit on the dark side, why not introduce some mirrors to reflect light around the room? Our large cylinder mirror (£50) features convex glass and a black metallic frame with a gold rim. It also comes in a 26cm medium version (£40) which has flat glass and the same surround. These mirrors are super stylish and look particularly effective if used in multiples along a hallway or up a staircase.

Don’t forget to try to step out of your comfort zone with your accessories. Be as brave as you dare and use them as a chance to mark a new season or follow a new trend. If you end up changing your mind, no harm done! You can easily swap things around again and create an entirely different look.
